MEETING MINUTES

Northbrook Cycle Committee
May 11, 2006
Village Green
7:00 p.m.

ATTENDANCE:

Present: Aram Bayzaee, Marc Colbert, Mike Ferren, Steve Goldberg, Imelda March, Stacie Marx, Gareth Newfeld, Jim O'Conell, Franco Panveno.

 

GENERAL:

1) Call to order; Aram Bayzaee

REPORTS OF OFFICERS:

A. President's Report -Aram Bayzaee

• "Cheat Sheet" for announcer presented by Aram
• Zipp Wheel will be available for raffle again; boardmembers, friends and families will be ineligible to enter for 2006. NCC needs more effective advertising campaign for exposure to prompt raffle interest and funds.
• Roger Delaney will video open night
• Aram suggested that an invitation be extended to Mayor and park district official's for opening night.
• Opening Night Race Schedule discussed

B. V.P. of Rider Development-Chris Mailing - Absent

C. Government Relations Director's Report-Mark Harris -- Absent

D. Race Director's Report-Marcus Moore-Absent

E. Communications Director's Report-Imelda March

Race Promotions

• Website is up and running
• Program listing
• Program flyers
• Sponsorship and support
• Miscellaneous

F. Public Relations Director's Report- VACANT
• Steve Goldberg suggested end-of-year barbeque be handled professionally due to quality assurance and efficiency concerns
• Stacie mentioned her contacts at Chicken Charlie's
• Steve has talked with Stash's about sponsorship involvement and will return to determine if they would have interest in sponsoring the last night of racing when the barbeque is hosted, including covering all food and service; at least a quote will be obtained
• NCC does not have sufficient funds to pay for this

G. Sponsorship Director's Report- Steve Goldberg
• Steve will discuss sponsorship with Stash's as referred to above
• Chalet needs improvement with an eye on capital improvements
• Northbrook Civic Foundation will be approached concerning any funds available as a grant to NCC; we received funds last year and they generally do not fund large grants in successive years

H. Director of Financing and Accounting Director's Report-Marc Colbert
• 2005 Tax Documents are prepared and filed
• Filed Charitable Organization Annual Report May 15

I. Treasurer Director's Report-(open but capacity filled by Director of F&A)

J. Secretary Director's Report-Jim Weaver


SPONSORSHIP:

OLD BUSINESS:
• ROTY guidelines draft was presented

NEW BUSINESS:
• Season pass for riders was discussed and a formal proposal will be assembled for a board vote
• Hearthland Café's Radio appearance on 5/20 or 6/3; attendees and indication of interest is needed; Steve Goldberg will represent NCC
• Opening night:
Registration training with Gareth
Season kits prepared
Printed opening night schedule
Video taper operator confirmed
