When does the season starts/ends? Typically the season begins in the middle of May and ends the first week in September within a calendar year. The 2008 web calendar is available by clicking here. In 2008, the season has been extended one week to provide a rain date for the end of season BBQ.

Oh how time flys! NB Velo version 1.0 went live 7-26-1996. For $5 a month Chicago startup Enteract.com granted us 10 megabytes of disk space and 250 megabytes of bandwidth. I put the site up using my rockin US Robitics 28.8 modem. Contrast that to todays site where we have 10 gigabytes of disk space and 400 gigabytes of bandwidth (thats over 1,000 times more disk space and 1,630 times more bandwidth!).

The upcoming Northbrook Spring/Summer Recreation Guide cover will feature women racing at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome.
